Hey Saskatchewan -- we want to shoot a feature film in your town!
Our production team is looking for just the right rural setting to film our post apocalyptic comedy, “Welcome to Kittytown” and we need your help!
Post your Saskatchewan location ideas and photos on the Welcome to Kittytown Facebook Page and help spread the word with the share buttons below.
We would love to come for a visit to see if your town has what it takes to be in the movies!
Logistic Requirements
Shooting begins in mid-September 2019 (15 day shoot). Specific dates will be determined with the selected location.
Must have hotel or motel accommodations for up to 18 people (cast and crew). A well-equipped campsite could be considered an alternative.
Must have a catering business in town to feed up to 18 people for a 15 day shoot.
Accommodation and catering rates must be reasonable as this is a low budget indie film.
All filming requirements below must be within a 20 minute drive of the accomodations.
Filming Requirements
Two separate “interesting looking” farmhouses or unique acreages for roughly 3 days of shooting each.
We need areas and buildings that look run down for the perfect post-apocalyptic backdrop.
Spectacular Saskatchewan vistas. Please tell us what makes your surrounding area special!
Any type of bridge, that is reasonably quiet and safe for a film crew to shoot.
Desolate roads of all varieties. Pavement, dirt. Train tracks.
While not a requirement, an old grain elevator in the surrounding area would certainly be an asset.
Finally…A couple cute kitty cats from your hometown that want to be movie stars!
Other Details
We will require a town liaison that knows the potential locations and the people we need to get in touch with.
Press/media may be present during the shoot to talk about the movie and explore the area.
It will be a fun, exciting 15 days to showcase your hometown to the rest of the province, plus, the project would inject a few dollars into your economy!
About the Team
The entire cast and crew are made up of fine folks from Saskatchewan and the production company is based out of Saskatoon.
The cast and crew will be very respectful and leave light footprints as privileged guests in your hometown.
